Forming

Sometimes it is necessary to make a flexible material harder or, conversely, to turn a soft material into a hard and rigid one. For instance, we can make a substrate dimensionally stable so that it keeps its shape properly in well-defined conditions. But a material can also be made shrink-proof or thermostable.

Using a variety of treatments and techniques, we can change the shape of a particular material or make it more stable. For acoustic projects, for example, we have been able to produce solid panels made of non-wovens via pressing techniques that optimise sound absorption and so improve the acoustics in a room.
