At Finipur, we have several stretchers or drying kilns with working widths of up to 3 m 25 cm. Using a chain with pins or clamps, a flexible material, which may or may not be pre-coated, is passed through the drying kiln. In this way, the residual water damp can evaporate from the material, giving us a dry and coated end product at the end of the stretcher. Sometimes it is only necessary to fix the shape of the material or fabric so that it is no longer susceptible to shrinkage. We can perform this thermofixing on these stretchers. This also allows us to fix the coating to the substrate. This fixing process relies on a chemical reaction in which polymer chains are linked together.
