Tumbling

Tumbling is the repeated catapulting of fabrics against the wall of a drum to soften them or make them more voluminous. This process takes place at high speed and at a certain temperature. Tumbling can be applied to substrates such as pile fabrics, non-wovens, webs, fleeces, knits, flat fabrics, etc.

Softening and volumising fabrics is particularly interesting for interior and outdoor textiles, including curtains, mattress covers, plaids and upholstery fabrics.

At Finipur, we use a string tumbler with a maximum width of 3 m 10 cm and a flat tumbler with a maximum width of 1 m 60 cm for this purpose
